Yesterday the fest came to an end and here are the award winners.

Best Canadian Feature Film: Lost Song, Rodrigue Jean
Best Canadian First Feature Film: Before Tomorrow, Marie-Hélène Cousineau and Madeline Piujuq Ivalu
Best Canadian Short Film: Block B, Chris Chon Chan Fui, Malaysia and Canada, 2008

Diesel Discovery Award: Hunger, Steve McQueen, UK
FIPRESCI Award for Discovery: Lymelife, Derick Martini, USA
FIPRESCI award for Special Presentations: Disgrace, Steve Jacob, Australia

People’s Choice Award: Slumdog Millionaire, Danny Boyle (co director in India: Loveleen Tandan), UK, 2008
First runner-up: More Than A Game, Kristopher Belman, USA (Documentary)
Second runner-up: The Stoning of Soraya M, Cyrus Nowrasteh, USA
